Warren R. Coleman

Warren R Coleman, 56, passed away July 6, 2003 in his home in Chico. He was a member of the Psychology Department faculty at Chico State for 29 years. A native of Loomis, Professor Coleman graduated from Del Oro High School and Sierra College. He received his BA and MA in Psychology at CSU and his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Montana.In 1985 he was named the "Outstanding Teacher of the Year" at Chico State. his memberships included Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society and American Association of Science. He was a world traveler, attending conferences with faculty and students.He was preceded in death by his father, George Coleman. He is survived by his mother Mary Coleman, of Loomis; his brothers John Coleman of Loomis and Charles Coleman of Santa Clara; and his sister Tina Sims of Auburn. Also survived by nephews Ryan and Bradley Coleman and nieces Coleah Brackett, Kelly Coleman and Loreena Sims.A celebration of Warren's life was held July 11 at the Albert E Warrens Reception Center on the Chico State campus. All who knew Warren were touched by his keen sense of humor, his love of the outdoors and his kindness. His family, students, friends and colleagues will miss him.A graveside service will be held on July 28, 2003 at 10AM at the Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Rd, Newcastle.
