Wayne Burton 11/12/1966 - 1/18/2026

Wayne Michael Burton aged fifty-nine years old of Auburn California passed away on the evening of Sunday January 18th, 2026. Wayne was born on November 12th 1966 in South Lake Tahoe. He was adopted as an infant by Adeline & Anthony Burton. He grew up in Atherton California and later Placer County. He graduated Colfax High School in 1984 and obtained a Bachelors of Art in Anthropology from the University of California Davis in 1999. He loved poker, primates, and punk rock. Music was an ever present facet of his life, and he imparted his love of the medium to his two children. He enjoyed trips to the zoo where he would frequent the exhibits. When he played cards he played aggressively and with an intention to win. He was a witty and perceptive presence and was appreciated by his peers for his sardonic jokes and good nature. He is succeeded by his two children Kieran and Devlin Burton as well as his brother Eric Burton, his nephews Ryan Bonta, Brandon Burton, and Mickey Burton, and nieces Jennifer Sullivan, Hannah Burton, and Sarah Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Leann McCurdy. An Irish Wake will be held on January 25th at 2:00 PM at Molloy's Pub located at 1655 Mission Road #6, South San Francisco. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Friends of Bonobos nonprofit organization in his memory.
