Brijs' three TDs sparks Tigers in commanding win over Antelope

Junior Joe Brijs continued his dominant play of late as he rushed for three touchdowns in the Roseville Tigers' 35-7 win over the Antelope Titans Friday night. "I just come out to practice with a focus and drive to be better," Brijs said. "I think we know we have a chance to be really good this season and want to come out and show that." Coming into Friday's game, Brijs had rushed for 369 yards on 60 carries and nine touchdowns over the last three games. He added 22 more carries in Friday's win, including scoring runs of 4, 8 and 1 yard for Roseville. "He's done a great job for us on both sides of the ball and is really instrumental in what we do," said Roseville head coach Joe Cattolico. Brijs wasn't the only Tiger helping run the ball against the Titans as junior Cole Errecart rushed for a touchdown as well. Errecart has 472 yards on the season and is 24th in rushing in the Sac-Joaquin Section, according to MaxPreps. The Tigers also shined defensively, forcing four punts and three turnovers, one of which came off a 60-yard pick six by senior Cade Triplett. "I was just reading the quarterback," Triplett said. "My teammates helped me with blocking and it felt amazing." The Titans' only touchdown came in the fourth quarter off a 5-yard run by Drevon Love. "Our defense did a great job to hold them down and keep them out of the end zone until the very end, so I'm very proud and hopefully it's something for us to build on," Cattolico said. The win brings the Tigers to 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Capital Valley Conference. They now prepare for the River Valley Falcons on the road next week before going on a bye. The Falcons are 2-3 after losing 40-7 to Yuba City on Friday night.
