The All-League rosters for the Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League were released and a number of players from Valley Christian Academy and Western Sierra Collegiate Academy earned All-League honors. For boys' basketball, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves coach Andre Jones was named Coach of the Year while Kim Contreras was Coach of the Year for the Valley Christian Academy Lady Lions team. Jones helped lead the Wolves to a league championship while Contreras led the Lions to their sixth section title in the last decade. Lions senior Christelle Williams averaged 15.6 points per game to finish her varsity career and was awarded as the co-Most Valuable Player. Williams scored 22 points in the section title game against Bret Harte High. Williams was co-Most Valuable Player, along with Audrey Harris from Faith Christian. "My favorite moments of the season were our team setting records for the school, being able to move up a division and my team not being scared about it at all," Williams said. "I feel like I improved on being a team leader and encouraging my team to push and do their best and also being able to see the court better. I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn." Gabby Jackson-Brown and Mariah Contreras both earned First-Team All-League while Janet Donkor was on the Second-Team. Ellie Gunter and Kalista Larson were both honorable mentions. Western Sierra had three girls earn All-League, including Rhea Lopez who was on the Second-Team, while Aisha Sandhu and Vidhi Rana were honorable mentions. On the boys' side, Chase Delaloye and Mathes Klein combined for 27 points per game for the Wolves and earned First-Team All-League. "I worked very hard over the summer to help our team get as far as we can and the added recognition is nice," Delaloye said. "I feel like I improved a lot on becoming more aggressive. At the beginning of the season, I was a lot more passive and I'm glad that I grew to become an aggressive driver to create opportunities for us." Prayaag Parikh, Lawrence Lau and Trennick Depaynos all found themselves on the Second-Team while Max Frantti and Daniel Vovc were honorable mentions. For the Lions, Chase Clary earned First-Team honors and helped lead the team to a section title and a NorCal Championship appearance. Jordan Hurley was placed on the Second-Team while Chris Donkor and Ian Glaspy were honorable mentions. Braeden Beaman of Sacramento Adventist Academy was named the Most Valuable Player.
