Movers for Moms making Mother's Day memorable with donations

Mothers in need will have a happier Mother's Day this season thanks to Two Men and a Truck's annual donation drive, Movers for Moms. To kick off the 17th annual donation drive, an event will be held Wednesday, March 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Keg and Cork at 973 Pleasant Grove Blvd., according to Two Men and a Truck Sacramento's Business Development Manager Tiana Dubois. Two Men and a Truck is a national moving company with more than 300 locations statewide. They offer local and long-distance moving, storage, junk removal, packing service and box and supplies. They also give back to their local communities through campaigns and donation drives like Movers for Moms. Movers for Moms is accepting toiletry donations during spring to be donated to mothers in need on Mother's Day. All donations will go toward Saint John's Program for Real Change. Saint John's Program for Real Change is a Sacramento-based organization aimed at supporting women and children in crisis with a program meant to help rebuild their lives, says their website. More than 30,000 women have been helped via their program. Movers for Moms is looking for bed sheets, bath towels, slippers, shower shoes and caddies, women's hygiene products, shampoos and conditioners, makeup and nail polish, baby items, school items and more. Donations can also be made directly via their online Amazon Wishlist, which will automatically be delivered to Movers for Moms. The wishlist can be found at amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2PXXV8QCARCV2?ref_=wl_share. According to Dubois, the kickoff event incentivizes donations by providing a raffle ticket per full-sized toiletry item donated exclusively at the event. Raffle prizes were donated by multiple businesses in the region. "With the help of other local businesses like, Keg And Cork, Umpqua Bank and Empowered People United, Two Men And A Truck is looking to gather over 10,000 items to help moms in shelters this Mother's Day," said Dubois. "Donations will be collected throughout March and April at several local businesses."
