Auburn's Crooked Lane Brewing Company announces partnership with Iron Rose FC

Roseville Iron Rose FC has officially announced its partnership with Auburn's Crooked Lane Brewing Company, which will host a uniform unveiling party at the brewery on April 9 to celebrate the upcoming season. Crooked Lane owner Teresa Psuty said she reached out to the club in March in hopes of collaborating on a beer, but it quickly spurred something more. "I reached out to Iron Rose because I learned there was a new women's semi-pro soccer team coming to Roseville and I wanted to feature them as part of the pink boots beer," Psuty said. "As soon as I started talking to them, we realized we have much more in common and we were looking at a bigger partnership. They're really excited about us. I'm really excited about them." Psuty said the partnership was a no-brainer with breweries often being intertwined in sports culture. "As a brewery, we're really in deep with the sports community so it's kind of a natural fit for us to work with them," Psuty said. Because Iron Rose FC will play its home games at West Park High School, beer will not be served on campus, but Psuty said the club and brewery are finding ways to make their partnership work and support one another without beer sales. "For us, it's not totally about selling beer. It's about supporting this new group in our community, and I know we're gonna find ways to work together," Psuty said. "We're gonna do a beer that's like their team beer throughout the year to kind of promote the club and support them." Psuty added Crooked Lane is working to do some watch parties and other fan events at the brewery. The Iron Rose beer will be called Women of Iron, and Psuty said she wants the team's fans to decide what they want the beer to be. "We really want the fans to decide on that," Psuty said. "We're gonna give them a couple of choices and see what they come back with because this is about the fans more than it is about us or the club. We want them to have a say." The partnership between Iron Rose and Crooked Lane is set for three years initially, but Psuty said she hopes it extends beyond that and that the two support each other for years to come. Iron Rose FC begins its inaugural season May 11 against San Francisco Elite Soccer Club. The home opener will be May 18 against FC Davis.
