Lincoln's Showcase 2024 draws record crowd, food and drink vendors

As the gates to Lincoln Showcase 2024 opened Saturday, Sept. 28, and the surge began, it was apparent the wide range in partygoers (21+ to 80+) had one thing in common: They were there to eat, drink and be merry. Showcase 2024 saw the largest number of attendees (1,050 tickets sold) and food and drink providers (63) in the event's 22-year history. Attendees could pick from seafood, BBQ, Mexican or Greek cuisine, pizza and every type and variety of appetizers, plus enough beer and wine offerings to quench anyone's thirst. The event's expansion required opening not only Beermann Plaza and F Street but also 5th Street. Event organizer and Lincoln Chamber of Commerce CEO Ton Indrieri said, "Our guests enjoyed great food bites from Lincoln and the surrounding area restaurants, washed down with tastings from our fabulous Wine and Beer Trail establishments. It was a great way for Lincoln and regional guests to experience all that is available so close to their homes." Adding to the evening was music by local DJ Professor Rockola and headliner band Neon Playboys. The music never stopped and neither did the dancing.
