Long vacant area of Folsom strip mall coming to life

A large section of a Folsom strip mall that has been vacant for years is coming to life this spring with the opening of a new business. Construction has begun on Town Square Folsom at 9580 Oak Avenue Parkway, #4B, the former location of Vic's Supermarket in the American River Canyon area. Town Square is an adult day health care center which focuses on seniors with dementia; the company has other locations throughout the country, each designed as a mid-century American town. The center will feature amenities that other sister locations have, such as a diner, theater, city hall, art studio and health club. Owners said this immersive environment is designed to spark memory recall and encourage social engagement. "Breaking ground on our new center is an exciting step toward serving families in Folsom," said Nick Trunzo, Co-Owner of Town Square Folsom. "We look forward to creating a space where older adults can thrive and families can find peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in a safe, engaging environment." "It feels especially fitting that we're opening this nostalgic environment in a space that holds such meaningful memories for me," said Desiree Trunzo, co-owner of Town Square Folsom.
