Kaiser expansion into Lincoln well under way

Highway 65 commuters have surely noticed that construction is well under way for a Kaiser Permanente medical facility just northeast of the Twelve Bridges Drive and highway intersection in Lincoln.The $37 million project is scheduled to open this fall.The 75,000-square-foot building will house 32 physicians plus support staff who will provide adult medicine, women's health, ophthalmology, optometry, optical sales, pediatrics, pharmacy, radiology and lab services."Residents will be able to meet with Kaiser physicians, go to the lab, and pop into the pharmacy all at once, without ever traveling more than a few miles," said Mike Lee, marketing director.With 30 parking spaces reserved for low-speed vehicles, Lincoln residents will be encouraged to use them for medical appointments. "Kaiser is excited about bringing medical services to Lincoln," said Bonnie Gore, senior public affairs representative for Kaiser Permanente. "The community in Lincoln has been waiting a long time for basic medical services in the area and now they will have it in their own back yard."- Staff report
