Three government branches are biblically rooted ideas

More revisionist history from Jill Walker, Journal Jan. 9. Of the 55 founding fathers, only three could ever have been considered deists, and at least one of those converted to Christianity. The founders were Calvinists, biblical Christians, who believed that God gave civil government only limited authority, which was manifested in our Constitution. The constitution was written on Biblical principles. The idea of three branches of government comes from Isaiah 33:22. The idea of separation of powers comes from Jeremiah Chapter 17. The idea of a constitutional republic with restrictions on the government, were to see that inherently sinful men would be bound down by the rule of law.Congress in 1805 drafted a treaty of peace and amity with Tripoli and ratified it in 1806.
