Boyfriend, his roommate arrested for murder in Vanderschoot disappearance

Justine Vanderschoot?s boyfriend and his roommate have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of the 17-year-old Christian Valley teen, the Placer County Sheriff?s Department reported Thursday morning. Daniel Bezemer, 18, and Brandon Fernandez, 21, are being held in Placer County Jail without bail and are scheduled to be arraigned Friday. Attempts are currently under way to locate Justine?s body, according to department officials. The Maidu High School student was last seen in her home on Labor Day, Sept.1, after eating din-ner with Bezemer and her family. She never made it to her first day of her new job the next day and was reported missing. Her locked truck was located Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Park and Ride in Meadow Vista, located at the Clipper Gap exit from Interstate 80. Since then, numerous searches by family, authorities and concerned community members have taken place in the area.On Wednesday, agents from the Sacramento office of the FBI and the Placer County Sheriff?s De-partment conducted a number of searches and interviews that led to the 8:30 arrest of the suspects, officials report.
