PAL comedy night a rip-roaring success

When I heard that Lincoln Police Activities League was going to sponsor a comedy night, I sensed that a possible disaster was in the making. What if nobody came and PAL lost money in addition to being embarrassed?Wrong!Nonstop laughter filled the Sun City Lincoln Hills Orchard Creek Ball Room during the evening of April 19. Don Friesen's Fresh and Frenetic Comedy Tour stop was a tremendous success. The evening provided hilarious entertainment for the appreciative audience and provided much needed funds for the Lincoln Police Activities League programs. Friesen's show is wide-ranging, generally audience-friendly and a fall-down funny mixture of verbal and physical comedy. Another talented comedian, Paul Morrissey (www.paulhaswebsite.com), tickled our funny bones throughout his routine prior to Friesen's non stop madness.A surprise visit by "Fire Marshall Bill" (aka Lincoln Fire Chief Dave Whitt) provoked a roar of laughter that set a new decibel record at Sun City Lincoln Hills.Following the show the audience continued to smile on the way out and many expressed the hope that more would be coming our way.Vic Freeman of Lincoln Hills indicated that the show was "beyond his expectations and a very entertaining evening with good laughs all night."Jeff Greenberg, also of Lincoln Hills, proclaimed the show to be "phenomenal" and added that his wife Sherry got a stomachache from laughing."The last time she laughed that hard was for Don Rickles in Las Vegas," he said.
