Kings' Fox to host youth basketball camp in Rocklin

One of the fastest rising young superstars in the NBA is hosting a basketball skills camp in Rocklin July 23–24. Sacramento Kings third-year point guard De'Aaron Fox will hold his first Basketball Pro Camp at Hardwood Palace for boys and girls ranging from first through 12th grade. According to ProCamps Vice President of Sales and Marketing Matt Chacksfield, there will be more than 200 kids expected at Fox's camp, which will include various local college and high school coaches from around the region providing hands-on instruction. "The cool thing about our camps is that the athlete will be there the entire time," said Chacksfield. "We've worked with De'Aaron already the year after he was at Kentucky with a camp in Lexington. He's great with the kids and just a lot of fun." Chacksfield said that the camp expects to have a 10-to-1 kid-to-coach ratio to ensure maximum instruction, including fundamental skill stations, contests and games over the two-day camp. "They'll get high-level interaction," said Chacksfield. "Just positive messages from positive role models in the market – in this case, De'Aaron Fox – and a little bit of basketball in between." Fox has taken an interest in the local sports community. He was spotted at local high school basketball games last season, including a Capital Valley Conference game at Woodcreek High School between the Timberwolves and the Roseville Tigers last December. For a fee of $199, campers will receive access to the camp for both days, a souvenir autograph from Fox, a camp team photo with Fox and a limited edition T-shirt.
