Rocklin man charged with murder

Murder charges have been filed against a Rocklin man Tuesday afternoon after a male victim died from injuries sustained from an assault incident last week, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Sean Robert Warner, 38, of Rocklin was charged with murder and arraigned at Sacramento Superior Court Tuesday afternoon, said Shelley Orio, communications and media officer with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office. Warner was arrested and booked into Sacramento County Jail after allegedly striking a male victim with an unknown object and causing life-threatening injuries July 25, according to a Facebook post by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Sacramento County Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Tess Deterding said the victim, in his 60s, died over the weekend. According to the felony complaint filed Tuesday, the victim was named John Durst. An inquiry into Durst's actual age and city of residence were not answered before deadline. Sheriff's deputies received a phone call from a local business at 1:24 p.m. July 25, stating one of their employees told them he killed one of their customers, according to the post. When deputies arrived in the 3800 block of Sandra Court in Sacramento, they located a male in his 60s inside the residence with visible injury to his upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Deterding said there are no other outstanding suspects and no motive is known as of Tuesday. In a Gold Country Media article published online on July 26, the suspect in this incident was named Sean Timothy Warner. Orio noted official charges have been filed against Sean Robert Warner, who at one time used the middle name Timothy.
