Lincoln Veteran Memorial Coalition receives $50,000 for monument construction

The VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Department of California Foundation, on behalf of the Sarah A. Bonnifield Trust, donated $50,000 as the Veteran Legacy Sponsor toward the Placer County Veterans Monument's construction in Lincoln. The July 16 check presentation was made at the monument's future McBean Park location by Dennis Reynolds, past VFW Post 3010 commander and Lincoln Veteran Memorial Coalition board member, to Don Witt, coalition president, and Larry Yaggi, coalition past treasurer. With the VFW donation, the monument project will go out to bid for construction. The project completion date is scheduled for Nov. 11, 2020 but might be pushed out to May 31, 2021, due to COVID-19 delays. With the former Bonnifield property in the background, Witt also thanked Tom Riddle for his tenacious multi-year effort to make sure that the Lawrence W. and Sarah A. Bonnifield Trust was executed the way that the Bonnifields intended.
