Nancy Hiebert 8/18/1947 - 7/23/2020

Nancy Hiebert (Wright), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on July 23, 2020 after a brief fight with cancer. Nancy was born August 18, 1947 to Ed and Irma Wright, and was the granddaughter of Earl and Amy Atwood of Auburn. She married Dale Hiebert in 1965 and they lived in Alta, California with their children, Steve Hiebert (Paula) and Stephanie Hiebert for 51 years. Nine of these years were spent living in at the Drum Powerhouse Camp, an isolated area with no phone or TV service, where it was required to always have at least 30 days of food as the road would occasionally be impassable in the winter months and was not routinely plowed. In 1979, Dale and Nancy built their beautiful home on Sawmill Rd. Nancy was a Teacher's assistant at the historic, one room schoolhouse in Emigrant Gap, driving her two-wheel drive car through the snow each day. She was also an Aide at Alta Dutch Flat Grammar School. As a cashier at Scrivener's Alta Store and then at the Dutch Flat Trading Post, Nancy was loved by her many friends and customers, and was known for her generosity and willingness to always lend a hand. In 2018, she and her family relocated to Pahrump, Nevada. She is survived by her husband Dale, her son Steve, daughter in law Paula, daughter Stephanie, granddaughters Krystal (Mike) Hagen, Stevie Hiebert, great granddaughter Donna Hagen, brother Mike (Judy) Wright, nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
