Shooting at Roseville hotel leaves one dead

Updated 1:10 p.m. Sept. 20: The 28-year-old Roseville homicide suspect was arrested near downtown Reno on Saturday afternoon, according to TV Channel News 4 in Reno. Reno Police Department officers found a car matching the description of the Roseville suspect. Officers tried to stop the car but the male suspect failed to yield and led police on a brief chase. The man was arrested Saturday and booked into the Washoe County Jail, according to News 4. At 7:43 a.m. Friday, a shooting at the Home 2 Suites, 1900 Freedom Way in Roseville, left one person dead and a suspect that is still at large, according to the Roseville Police Department. The shooting took place inside of the hotel, according to Roseville Police public information officer Rob Baquera. Dispatchers received multiple calls from guests and hotel staff about the shooting. The suspect fled the scene and investigators are using all available information from guests, staff and hotel security footage to identify and track down the suspect, according to Baquera, as of 11 a.m. Friday. The area around the hotel has been deemed safe, according to Baquera, but it is unknown whether the suspect is still in the city or not. No motivation has been linked to the shooting by investigators yet, according to Baquera, but they can confirm that there is only one victim and no one else was either killed or injured. The hotel is at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Blue Oaks Boulevard, near Top Golf and the Sacramento FBI building.
