P.E.O. opens local chapter in Roseville

The P.E.O. sisterhood, a philanthropic and educational organization recently opened its seventh P.E.O. chapter in the Roseville-Rocklin-Lincoln area, as Alhambra Chapter IY merged with a group of unaffiliated Roseville members. The P.E.O., which supports and promotes educational opportunities for women, celebrated the occasion with a Sunday afternoon ceremony and tea, attended by local members, Alhambra guests and P.E.O. state officers.Since its founding in Alhambra 70 years ago, Chapter IY has contributed to many civic and philanthropic projects in and around its Southern California locale. As its members aged and moved, the chapter chose to pass on its history and legacy by merging with a newly forming California P.E.O. group. Now, Roseville Chapter IY will be heir to both the history and the traditions of its Alhambra origins.Chapter IY will meet in members' homes at noon on the fourth Thursday of each month.
