Placer Food Bank receives $80,000 in donations in one week

This week, the Placer Food Bank received a total of $80,000 in donations from John L. Sullivan and Wells Fargo Bank to go toward an endowment fund to help the food bank continue to feed the area. On Dec.14, long-time car dealer John L. Sullivan surprised the Placer Food Bank with a $50,000 check. When Sullivan found out that his dealership group was planning to donate $5,000 to the food bank, he decided to multiply it by 10 to surprise the food bank. The check presentation took place at Roseville Toyota and Placer Food Bank's director of development Lisa Heinrich "was blown away" by the surprise and the generosity. Then on Dec. 17, Wells Fargo Bank, a 15-year partner with the Placer Food Bank, donated $30,000 to the food bank to also go toward its endowment fund. This brings Wells Fargo's donations to the Placer Food Bank to $120,000 in 2020 Due to COVID-19, the Placer Food Bank has had to deny all food donations at a time when many residents need help putting food on their tables. So the monetary donations mean more than ever before, according to the organization.
