Placer County Sheriff's crime log: Social Security scam, firearm burglary, more

March 4 A 75-year-old Alta resident reported a burglary in the 300 block of Caine Road. A Taurus, model 856, .38-caliber revolver and gun safe were stolen from her residence. A loss of $706 was reported. March 5 A 74-year-old Foresthill resident reported being bilked out of $12,000 due to a gift card fraud scheme. A 71-year-old Newcastle resident reported a theft in the 8100 block of Chili Hill Road. Packages, containing a plastic pot and sunflower seeds, were stolen from her front gate. A loss of $45 was reported. Christina Lynn Dentley, 39, of Citrus Heights was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln. March 6 A 71-year-old Applegate resident reported being bilked out of $3,800 after an unknown individual claiming to be from Social Security advised his Social Security number was compromised. He then advised the victim needed to remove all the money from his account, except for $100, and provide it as payment to secure his Social Security number. March 7 Gavin Rene Arevalo, 34, Loomis was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of tear gas in the 3900 block of Sierra College Boulevard in Loomis. Justin Coy Renard, 36, of Elk Grove was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, being a felon in possession of tear gas, burglary, meth possession and possession of stolen property. The arrest followed a traffic stop in the Merrywood Court and Shelborne Drive area of Granite Bay. A 66-year-old Wheatland resident reported a theft at Thunder Valley Casino after her wallet was stolen. A loss of $388 was reported. Shane Ian Olson, 54, of Rocklin was cited on suspicion of meth possession and possession of drug paraphernalia in the Douglas Boulevard and Sunrise Avenue area of Roseville. March 8 Gregory Duane Brazier, a 52-year-old Auburn transient, was arrested on suspicion of parole hold, possession of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer in the 11700 block of Atwood Drive in Auburn. The arrest followed a Be On the Look-Out alert for the suspect for letting his GPS monitor battery die. March 9 Travis Wade Richardson, 44, of North Highlands and Joseph Anthony Block, 32, of Marysville were arrested on suspicion of attempted grand theft, conspiracy, committing a felony while released on bail or own recognizance, vehicle tampering, possession of burglary tools, being felons in possession of tear gas, meth possession and heroin possession. The arrests followed a report of two individuals with a U-Haul at The Blind Guy in the 1100 block of Tinker Road in Rocklin attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a company van. Charles Anthony Reynolds, a 22-year-old Auburn transient, was arrested on suspicion of possession of metal knuckles, possession of a billy club and violation of Post Release Community Supervision. The arrest followed a traffic stop in the 11300 block of Quartz Drive in Auburn. Kenneth Francis Hellyer, 34, of Nicolaus was arrested on suspicion of reckless evading, reckless evading by driving in the wrong direction, meth possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license in the McBean Park Drive and Lincoln Boulevard area of Lincoln. Victor Ramirez, 42, of Pacific Grove was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. A theft was reported at the Rimnetics, Inc. business yard in the 3100 block of Swetzer Road in Loomis. Pallets worth $175 were stolen. March 10 Alicia Amber Aplass, 57, of Folsom was cited on suspicion of meth possession and meth pipe possession following a traffic stop at Thunder Valley Casino. Ayanna Jaquay Alicia Osborne, 21, of Placerville was arrested on suspicion of possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm and possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle. The arrest followed a traffic stop in the Sunrise Avenue and Coloma Way area of Roseville.
