Placer County Sheriff's crime log: Casino cafe tips stolen, gas card fraud, more

March 22 Fraud was reported after a gas card belonging to the Placer County Office of Education was used for fraudulent transactions totalling $6,243. The card was left in a vehicle belonging to PCOE that was totaled after an accident in November 2020. March 27 Joshua Kyle Martin-Pettus, a 27-year-old Auburn transient, was cited on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing on private property in the 2400 block of Grass Valley Highway in Auburn. March 28 Ernest Felix Flores, 63, of Woodland was cited on suspicion of meth possession and possession of a meth pipe and digital scale following a traffic stop in the Fiddyment Road and Sunset Boulevard area of Lincoln. A cafe employee at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln reported a theft after an unknown individual reached behind the register and stole a clear bag with $40 in cash tips and her rose gold iPhone 8+ worth $750. Isiais Henry Ruiz, 27, of Stockton was arrested on suspicion of robbery, parole hold, assault and vehicle tampering at Thunder Valley Casino. Yesenia Paulina Cabuena, 22, of Modesto was also cited on suspicion of vehicle tampering. March 29 Manuel Rojas, 48, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. A theft was reported at Raley's in the 6800 block of Douglas Boulevard in Granite Bay. A White male described as 5-foot-9 with brown hair walked out of the store with alcohol he did not pay for. Jeffrey Nels Laroche, a 39-year-old Sacramento transient, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary in the 5800 block of English Colony Way in Penryn. A 38-year-old Colfax resident reported a mail theft in the 100 block of Overlook Drive after items were taken from her mailbox. March 30 Maria Mendoza, 54, of North Highlands and Otillo Gaxiola Carrasco, a 62-year-old transient, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and trespassing in the 8500 block of Palladay Road in Elverta. Victoria Nicole Hinojosa, 33, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth for sale. Moses Andrew Martinez, a 36-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of parole hold. The arrests followed a traffic stop for speeds higher than 65 mph in the Interstate 80 and Taylor Road area of Roseville. A 45-year-old Auburn resident reported a burglary in the 25900 block of N. Canyon Way in Colfax. Her backpack was stolen from her vehicle while she was hiking at Stevens Trail. She later received a notification of an attempted fraudulent charge. A loss of $275 was reported. A 55-year-old Sacramento resident reported a theft at Thunder Valley Casino after her Samsung A10e phone, worth $120, was stolen. A 39-year-old Auburn resident reported his identity was stolen after an unknown individual used his Social Security number and date of birth to obtain services. Rebecca Renee Joaquin, 19, of Smartville was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. A 49-year-old Folsom resident reported a theft at Hidden Falls Regional Park in the 7800 block of Mears Drive in Auburn. Property worth $1,116 was stolen from her vehicle. March 31 Estevan Santana Alvarez-Godinez, 26, of Meridian was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle. The arrest followed a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Athens Avenue in Lincoln.
