18-year-old Vicente Cuison killed in I-80 car crash

At about 9:35 p.m. on April 22, an 18-year-old male from Roseville was killed in a multi-vehicle car crash along eastbound Interstate 80 after colliding with two vehicles, according to California Highway Patrol Auburn Office public information officer Dave Martinez. The male was driving his 2009 gold Toyota Corolla along eastbound I-80 when he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason and struck the median, according to Martinez. The driver then swerved back into traffic where he was struck by a 2018 white Ford Mustang driven by Stanislav Tsyganiuk, 25, of Sacramento and the driver was then struck again by Ryan Mills, 24, of Roseville, according to Martinez. Tsyganiuk and Mills suffered minor injuries, according to Martinez, but Mills was arrested as it was determined by officers that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. It is unclear at what point the male died during the incident. Martinez said that the driver was found not to be wearing his seat belt when the incident occurred. "Always remember to buckle up," Martinez said. "Wearing a seat belt can save your life and the lives of others." Officers from the North Sacramento CHP Office began shutting down traffic eastbound at Douglas Boulevard at 9:52 p.m. Thursday for at least one hour and traffic was diverted off of the interstate onto Douglas Boulevard, according to the incident report. Units from the Roseville Police Department, Roseville Fire Department, Auburn CHP Office and North Sacramento CHP Office were on scene. More information on this incident will be provided when it becomes available.
