Batteries Plus opens in Auburn

Locals looking for a unique lightbulb or hard-to-find battery are in luck this week, as Batteries Plus just opened its doors in Auburn. The new store, which specializes in battery, lightbulb, key fob and phone repair, is located at 11865 Willow Creek Drive, in the old Fantastic Sams location. Roseville resident Ryan Tollefson, who owns six additional Batteries Plus locations in the Sacramento region, said he has been eager to open a location in Auburn. "We've been looking at the area and we've always had Auburn in mind," Tollefsen said. "Nothing has made sense for our business until just recently." Batteries Plus Auburn aims to provide residents services for automotive needs, such as free car battery testing and installations on most vehicles, and help keep their cell phone, key fob, laptop and tablet batteries lasting longer and more efficiently. Each staff member has experience working with top brands and operating systems to give the best inspection for a device, including phone repair for broken and cracked screens, also offering a range of products, such as: automotive batteries (ATV, snowmobile, motorcycle, car, marine and golf cart), chargers, cell phone batteries, phone essentials, SLA batteries, alkaline batteries and generators. "At Batteries Plus, we specialize in really hard-to-find batteries or lightbulbs," Tollefson said. "If people don't know what the problem is, we are really good at diagnosing and getting to what the issue is. We are good at assisting customers with things they haven't seen before." While the store officially opened its doors Monday, it will celebrate with a grand opening event June 3-6. The weekend will feature a raffle to win a Champion 3500W Portable Generator with a Remote Start ($500 value), and free auto battery testing will be done with participants receiving a 20% discount for a battery in the future. Tollefson opened his first Batteries Plus with his father in 1996. Auburn is Tollefson's seventh franchise. "Batteries Plus of Auburn will meet the need for those that need immediate repair for devices, quality products in stock and same-day services," Tollefson said. "Our local team will be there to help provide a memorable experience that is readily accessible to residents, local businesses and more to meet their demand for a quick and efficient shopping experience, conveniently located in their neighborhood." Batteries Plus employees work to help individuals, communities and organizations keep their devices and electronic equipment - including laptops, hearing aids, medical devices, monitors and more - running as smoothly as possible. Batteries Plus employees can also make on-site assessments to help solve a problem. Tollefson said residents may not know the store now fixes cell phone and tablet screens, and can do so within an hour or two. The store offers free car battery installation on most vehicles. "You can get service right away with us, and I think that is one of the things that stands out," Tollefson said.
