Placer High seniors honored on Scholarship Night

Placer High School on May 17 held its Scholarship Night, or as it's nicknamed, "Money Night." "This is our chance to showcase these amazing students who have prepared for college and earned financial support to help pay for it," Katy Chamberlin, counselor and scholarship coordinator, said in an email. Chamberlin noted the students worked hard over four years to earn the scholarships through academics, volunteerism, athletics and overall achievements. "Seniors, we truly look forward to you receiving your awards and celebrating you," Chamberlin wrote. She also thanked all the organizations and individuals who donated funds. While the seniors were able to gather this year, donors weren't allowed to present scholarships in person due to social distancing regulations. Placer students received $163,660. Also, college-bound students received $265,190 per year in institutional awards. The students received $1,224,420 total in scholarship money.
