Placer County Sheriff's crime log: Vandalism at Auburn Elementary, casino battery, more

May 10 A 39-year-old Auburn resident reported a vehicle burglary in the 100 block of Sutherland Drive. A loss of $1,659 was reported. May 24 A 23-year-old Colfax resident reported a burglary in the 21200 block of High Acres Road after his detached garage was burglarized while he was out of town. May 30 An 80-year-old Auburn resident reported vandalism at Auburn Elementary School in the 11400 block of Lariat Ranch Road after lights and mirrors on at least five buses were destroyed. Two individuals, a female and a White male described as being in his late teens to early 20s, 6-foot-3, tall and thin with long hair, were seen near portable classrooms. The male individual left behind a green Next bicycle. A 43-year-old Lincoln resident reported a burglary at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln after her vehicle was broken into and her purse, containing credit cards and other items of value, was stolen. A loss of $1,750 was reported. A 59-year-old San Francisco resident reported identity theft after his wallet was stolen from Thunder Valley Casino and his EDD card was used for $997. Two 80-year-old Newcastle residents reported a burglary in the 6700 block of Chili Hill after items were stolen from their residence. A loss of $1,580 was reported. May 31 Demetrius Moses Curry, 36, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of a firearm not registered to him and carrying a loaded firearm in public. The arrest followed a traffic stop at Thunder Valley Casino. A 36-year-old Fair Oaks resident reported a burglary at Thunder Valley Casino after numerous items and money were stolen from her vehicle. Maritza Martinez, 44, of Reno, Nevada, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The arrest followed a traffic stop for erratic driving in the Interstate 80 and Nevada Street area of Auburn. June 1 A 46-year-old North Highlands resident reported a battery and theft at Thunder Valley Casino after a Black female stole $200 from him and a second Black female, described as 25-30 years old with black hair, 5-foot-5 and 130 pounds, punched him in the face during a verbal argument. Darius Washington, 28, of Elk Grove was arrested on suspicion of evading a peace officer, driving with a suspended or revoked license and improper lighting equipment. The arrest followed a traffic stop at Thunder Valley Casino. Jarah Christine Long, 44, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of pepper spray and probation violation in the 2400 block of Grass Valley Highway in Auburn. A 48-year-old Auburn resident reported theft in the 12200 block of Shale Ridge Lane after the catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle. A loss of $900-$1,000 was reported. Vandalism was reported in the 11500 block of D Avenue after a water line to a swamp cooler was cut, resulting in the building flooding and causing more than $1,000 in damages. June 2 A theft was reported at AMI Housing in the 11700 block of Atwood Road in Auburn after a black drop box worth $100 was stolen. It was not known at the time of the report if the box contained any checks. Victor Miranda, a 30-year-old Napa transient, and Nicole Rader, 35, of Sacramento were arrested on suspicion of being felons in possession of ammunition and obstructing or delaying a peace officer. Miranda was additionally charged on suspicion of felony reckless evading. The arrests took place in the Highway 65 and Blue Oaks Boulevard area of Roseville.
