Meet the new Placer County Sheriff's deputy

Editor's note: Latest in a series. Name: Deputy Lopez, a recent police academy graduate Why did you want to join the Placer County Sheriff team? I joined the PCSO because I've always heard that PCSO is the most desirable agency in the area. Also, PCSO offers a variety of positions that one can pursue. The county's geography also makes it a great place to work. What do you like most about your job? I like that I learn every single day when I'm out on patrol. I learn either from figuring it out on my own or asking my partners, who are super knowledgeable deputies. What do you hope to accomplish as a deputy? I want to learn as much as I can throughout my career and keep making Placer County a safe place to live. What advice would you give to those who may be considering a job in law enforcement? I would advise them to talk with family or significant others before starting this career because a lot of sacrifices will have to be made when starting this career.
