Placer County Sheriff's crime log: $15,500 in cigarettes stolen, kidnapping arrest, more

Nov. 26 A 27-year-old Rough and Ready resident reported a burglary at Tri-City Self Storage in the 3400 block of Swetzer Road in Loomis after multiple fishing poles, jewelry and clothing were stolen from her storage unit. A loss of $3,000 was reported. Nov. 27 Aleksandr A. Alekseyev, a 35-year-old Sacramento transient, was arrested on suspicion of attempted vehicle theft, vehicle burglary, theft of personal identifying information and possession of burglary tools. The arrest followed a report of a vehicle burglary in progress in the 1100 block of Woodglen Court in Roseville. Two Davis residents reported a burglary at Sacramento Cash and Carry in the 1100 block of Tara Court in Rocklin after $15,500 worth of cigarettes were stolen from their cargo van. The victims reported buying the cigarettes at Sam's Club and went to Sacramento Cash and Carry to make additional purchases. While inside the store, an unknown individual broke a window and stole the cigarettes and $12,000 from the center console. Nov. 28 Two Roseville residents reported a mail theft in the 2600 block of Central Avenue after an unknown amount of mail was taken from their mailbox. Benjamin Franklin Winkle, 36, of Vacaville was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, false imprisonment, making criminal threats and two warrants in the 500 block of S Auburn Street in Colfax. A 54-year-old Lincoln resident reported a theft in the 3100 block of California Lane after his mailbox was stolen. A loss of $120 was reported. Francisco Perez, 45, of Rancho Cordova was cited on suspicion of battery at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln. The suspect reportedly touched a female patron on her upper back without her permission. Nov. 29 Keith Michael Hixon, 31, of Foresthill was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics while armed with a loaded firearm, possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, meth possession, meth pipe possession and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The arrest followed a traffic stop in the Rocklin Road and Interstate 80 area of Rocklin. Marcus Anthony Ponce, 30, of Granite Bay was arrested on suspicion of theft of more than $950, committing a felony offense while out on bond and Post Release Community Supervision hold in the 8400 block of Sierra College Boulevard in Granite Bay. Clarence Wayne Anderson, a 41-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, violation of probation, vandalism, tampering with a vehicle and receiving stolen property. The arrest followed the report of an audible alarm in the 9200 block of Viking Place in Roseville.
