Fun is the Sun City Lincoln Hills Garden Club

On Dec. 2, the "Holiday in the Hills" luncheon was a wonderful way to end the activities of 2021 for the Sun City Lincoln Hills Garden Group. The Orchard Creek Ballroom was filled with members and their guests being treated to a delicious plated luncheon, activities and entertainment. The luncheon was topped off with a person at each table winning one of the 12 Christmas decorated and lighted birdhouses! They were built by Past President Virgil Dahl, and painted and decorated by Lorraine Immel, Jackie Stoll and Karen Ferrero. Other members under the direction of social chair Debbie Schryver who helped were Cherie Lyle, Victor Jew, Marie Salers, Linda Bringle, Kathy Otagiri and Catherine Cunningham. Sun City Lincoln Hills Garden Group is one of the oldest clubs at Lincoln Hills. Guided by a supportive and active steering committee, the club offers monthly general meetings with highly-qualified speakers on all aspects of gardening. The club sponsors garden shows (bonsai, flower and rose), hosts a local Home Garden Tour, organizes plant sales for Lincoln Civic Garden Projects and provides field trips, socials and classes. The club's purpose is to acquire knowledge about gardening techniques, stimulate interest in landscape projects, expose the membership to horticulture and enjoy camaraderie among members. Currently, the club has 238 households in our membership. They meet on the fourth Thursday of the month in Kilaga Springs Lodge at 2 p.m. For more info, visit the website at lhgardengroup.org.
