Tradition of the 'Nutcracker' is back at Folsom's Harris Center

"The Nutcracker" ballet has been a holiday favorite for more than 100 years around the world. After a year off, the Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet Company is bringing this classic performance back to the Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom this week. The ballet will return to the Harris Center with five performances from Dec. 17 through Dec. 19. "The Nutcracker" tells the story of Drosselmeyer, a mysterious magician and maker of mechanical toys, who longs to break a curse that has turned his nephew into a nutcracker doll. With the help of a young girl, Clara, they embark on a magical adventure battling the Mouse King and his army and traveling to the far away Kingdom of the Sweets and Land of the Snow. "Our goal is to offer an exceptional production capturing the beauty of the ballet," said Pamela Hayes, artistic director of the production.
