Jerry A. Rector 12/5/1938 - 12/15/2021

Jerry Adelbert Rector was born December 5, 1938 in Lakewood Colorado to Arthur and Clela Rector and died December 15, 2021 in Auburn California after his battle with cancer. Jerry and his brothers were raised by their Aunt Treva on a farm in Lakewood Colorado where they had a very adventurous childhood. Jerry moved to California in the 1950's where he worked at Hewlett Packard for 20+ years. He then opened his own machine shop, Performance Technology, in Mountain View California which he ran for 15 years. He and his wife Linda fell in love with the foothills and moved to Auburn in 1999. Jerry enjoyed classic cars, drag racing, motorcycle riding, welding horseshoe art sculptures, RV camping with friends and competing in cornhole and Jenga. He continued his passion for machining parts in his shop at home. When he wasn't working on a car part you could always count on Jerry to fix your lawn mower or tractor in need. Jerry's real pride and joy was his '57 Chevy Bel Air that he restored from the ground up and was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in November 1992. But to Jerry, nothing was better than a cold beer with his buddies in his beer garden to end the day. Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda, his daughters Bonnie (Mike), Shelley A.K.A Moosh and Carin. Grandchildren Charlie, Connor, Kristen (Tim), Matthew, and Alyssa A.K.A. Grandpa's Goofy. Predeceased by his Aunt Treva, his parents Arthur and Clela Rector and brothers Arthur and Robert Rector. Jerry chose to donate his body to scientific research at BioGift Anatomical of Portland Oregon. He always liked helping others and now his legacy will live on. Soar with the eagles my dear husband and never stop telling your "tall tales". We will all miss the unique person you were to each of us. We love you!
