Scott Pemberton's O Theory, Smokey the Groove bring the funk to Auburn Oddfellows Lodge

Get your dancing shoes shined, because on Saturday, Jan. 22, Keep Smilin' Promotions is excited to announce its first show for 2022 at the historic Auburn Oddfellows Lodge in Old Town Auburn. Attendees will be treated to a special show by the high-energy funk/rock/jam fun of Scott Pemberton's O Theory along with special guests Smokey the Groove under an all-encompassing visual liquid light show by the incredible Mad Alchemy lighting team. Scott Pemberton and band have been perfecting their unique sound for years, playing venues and festivals across the country. Pemberton's high-energy guitar-based dance music is unique, taking influences from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page to James Brown and Dick Dale. Not since the days of Cream and the Band of Gypsys has there been such a power trio thrilling crowds with their energetic show. Chico's Smokey the Groove will open the fun. Smokey the Groove has created a funk/dance experience that has become a must-go time for fans all over the greater West Coast. Smokey the Groove takes a lighthearted approach to its music. Focusing on funk and fun with their horns blazing and the bass thumping, the dance floor will be getting some heavy use. While the music is the focus, many have come to attend Keep Smilin' shows for the experience, which is like no other in the Sierra region. The Oddfellows Lodge is more than 125 years old, bringing a funky vibe and energy of its own, adding to it the best sound system in the region and the amazing psychedelic entrancing all-encompassing visuals of the Mad Alchemy Liquid Light crew.
