Registration to open for Summer Blitz camp at Folsom's Lakeside Church

You can also view the entire E-edition HERE For one week every summer, giant inflatable slides cover nearly the entire field of Lakeside Church at the corner of Oak Avenue Parkway and East Bidwell and are an unmistakable sign of Lakeside's annual and legendary Summer Blitz Camp for kids. Blitz has been a memorable part of summer for Folsom children since 2005 and the church is gearing up for another unforgettable camp this year, June 6 to June 9, with discounted registration opening April 3. Lakeside's Pastor Brad Franklin hopes that children from all over the community will attend and leave knowing they are important and valuable. "Children thrive when they can learn God loves them while surrounded by people who also love them," Franklin said. "If they have a blast at the same time, that's a bonus. That's Lakeside's Blitz Camp." Campers will enjoy entertaining skits and participating in energetic singing and dancing, along with creative arts and crafts and high-energy outdoor recreation with inflatables and water play. This year's camp theme, "Make Waves," will revolve around a beach theme and inspire kids to "make waves" in their own world. "Our theme centers on teaching kids how they can be a positive impact in the world around them and change it for good. I think this is something the human heart craves right now, at all ages," said Jen Jarvis, Lakeside's children's ministry pastor. "I am looking forward to a crazy fun week of celebrating kids being kids and of sharing God's love and the hope of Jesus with each child." Jarvis is excited to offer both morning and evening camp options this year. Available for incoming kindergarteners through fifth-graders, the morning session will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the evening session will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Snacks will be offered at both sessions, with a heartier snack available for the evening session. Lakeside is offering a discounted price of $75 for those registering April 3 to April 8. The price will increase to $95 beginning April 9 through close of registration on May 22.
