Twelve Bridges High Principal Maul takes district job

Twelve Bridges High School (TBHS) Principal Mike Maul sent a letter to students' families on June 8 stating that he will no longer serve as principal after this school year. Maul was the inaugural principal of the high school that opened last year. In the letter, Maul said that he accepted a new position this month working for the Western Placer Unified School District as the Personnel Services director. "The position is set to go to the WPUSD School Board in late June for approval, and if that takes place, my first day in the new position would be July 1," Maul wrote in the letter. "When I first got into administration, I knew that the personnel and human resources aspect of the job had immediate appeal for me. Recruiting, hiring and retaining quality staff members for all of our positions has been one of the cornerstones of my vision for the sites I have been a part of, and I am excited at the prospect of continuing to help develop those processes at the district office. Maul described his announcement of resignation as "bittersweet." "I knew how exciting it would be to be part of the team to open up this school but I had no idea how quickly I would fall in love with this campus and this community," Maul stated. "It has been an absolute privilege of my career to help get TBHS off the ground and I am grateful for the opportunity to be an 'Original Rhino.'" Maul said that he will help find a new principal for Twelve Bridges High School and hopes to announce the new principal selection by mid-July. Maul plans to work with the new principal to make their transition "as seamless as possible." Despite his departure, Maul shared that he will still show strong support for the Twelve Bridges High School community. Maul concluded his letter to his student body and their families by writing, "You will still see me around at Rhino events, cheering hard and doing everything I can to help support this school."
