Bill Johnson aka "The Bulldog" 11/30/1930 - 6/27/2022

A man of great values and a zest for life, Bill passed away June 27th with his wife and daughters present. Born in Kansas City, KS, his parents, Russell and Elizabeth Johnson and brother, Richard, moved to Vallejo in the mid 1930's. Immediately after graduating High School, Bill enlisted in the Air Force, spending time in Mississippi and Georgia; then stationed in Japan during the Korean War as a radio technician. He was an incredibly patriotic man, having utmost respect for all veterans. Upon his return to the U.S., he worked in the television repair field in the Bay Area. On visiting his parents' new home at Lake Combie, Auburn, he met Pat Lindland at her family cabin where they became an "item" and were married in 1956. Bill and Pat moved to Sunnyvale, where he worked for Hewlett Packard for 20 years, raising three daughters, then brought their family to Auburn, where he went to work as a real estate agent, then broker at Century 21 Old Town. He truly loved the Auburn community and being a realtor. Known for his large decks of business cards and ear-splitting whistle, he loved meeting new people and visiting friends, cuttin' a rug at parties, and doing his Willie Nelson impressions (sorry Willie); attending any events his daughters and grandchildren participated in (he was notorious for his cowbell!). Also, Cruise Nites, Fast Fridays, flea markets and musical events were highlights for him. Bill touched many hearts and will be greatly missed after 91 years of living life to its fullest. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat, daughters Debbie Rasmussen (Kim), Susan Jacinto (Danny), Kris Sterling (Van) and brother-in-law Don Lindland; grandchildren Ashley, Zach, Joey, Justin and Luke, and three great grandchildren, Jax, Isla and Sawyer. He was immensely proud of all of them. He could be seen on any given day riding his quad with his buddy, Moose, on the back. He was an avid and accomplished water skier and loved bowling and "riding the ranch" on his quad, fixing fences, taking grandkids on the golf cart to see the animals, and racing golf carts with the kids. Our sincere thanks to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice for their wonderful care so that Bill could be at home during his final three months, and the Auburn VA and Mather Hospital for their kind, knowledgeable care for all of Bill's family. At his request, there will be no services. Just remember, "Be a Good Egg" and live every day to its' fullest. "ADIOS AMIGOS!"
