Rider dies in motorcycle crash

Police are investigating a solo-motorcycle collision that claimed the life of the rider on Tuesday evening in Folsom.Folsom Police received an emergency call at 7:08 p.m. Tuesday from a motorist who came upon the fatal accident on Glenn Drive west of Sibley Street and was administering CPR to the injured motorcycle rider. Police and Folsom Fire personnel arrived within minutes.Despite the lifesaving attempt by the uninvolved motorist, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.Folsom Police Major Accident Response Team (MART) is handling the investigation into how and why the motorcyclist left the roadway and struck a tree.The identity of the rider is not being released, pending the notification of the next-of-kin.Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen a motorcyclist on Glenn Drive near the time of the collision to contact investigators at (916) 351-3553.
