Fall into Art League of Lincoln activities now

The Art League of Lincoln is alive with art and activities this fall and planning for 2023. The Art League of Lincoln, AKA ALL, is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 29th annual Placer Artists Tour to be held two weekends in November. The Placer Artists Tour is the largest and longest-standing open studio tour in the region, featuring more than 100 artists, along with art galleries, schools and now two music schools. For the first time, 12 Lincoln artists are on the tour. This is a huge increase over past years and the Art League of Lincoln will host five artists onsite during the tour. The entire community is involved, including RockStar Music Academy,one of two music schools on the tour and hosting three artists onsite, as well as live music. Four artists are showing out of their homes in Sun City Lincoln Hills and the Sun City Ceramics Art School is also on the tour. To kick off the Placer Artists Tour festivities, the Art League of Lincoln is hosting a Lincoln Regional Artist Preview show from Oct. 5 to Nov. 26. Work from each Lincoln artist will be on display as well as art representing the Sun City Ceramics School and RockStar Music Academy. A second Thursday opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 13 celebrating the Preview Show as well as "Natural Wild Wonders," a Spotlight Gallery exhibit featuring ceramics by Shoshana Bilunos and Stacy Pedri's Photography. Another second Thursday reception will be held Nov. 10, which will celebrate the November/December Spotlight Gallery exhibit featuring the work of Ain and Ana Veske and the Preview Show. Big changes are afoot at the Art League. A renewed leadership team is actively engaged in day-to-day management as well as planning for the future. Board President Gia McNutt is actively recruiting new board members. Recent board member additions include Steve Pagano of RockStar Music Academy, Julie Hirota of St. John's Program for Real Change, and Cailin Wailani, Lincoln resident artist. Many new ideas are being implemented. The recent landscaping/beautification project, led by volunteer/Board Member Diane Wood and her husband Stuart Hodgkins, has brought a new sense of beauty and aesthetics to the grounds. Phase 1 has just been completed, and Phase 2 is next. On Nov. 16, the Art League of Lincoln will hold its general membership meeting and volunteer appreciation event from 6 to 8 p.m.. Plan to come by and be part of the Art League of Lincoln's annual membership meeting, and enjoy art and live music. In December, the Art League of Lincoln-i-day Gift Boutique will feature unique one-of-a-kind artisan gifts from local artists. A second Thursday reception and Holiday shopping night will be on Dec. 8. In 2023, great plans are brewing, including our (larger than ever) annual Clay Day, combined with a Celebration of the Arts on May 6 in Beermann Plaza. This year, our vision is to have more clay artists and art, more youth activities, artisans, as well as street performers, and will extend into Lincoln and beyond Beermann Plaza. The Art League of Lincoln will continue its popular youth class series through the city of Lincoln, offering Kids Art Camps during school breaks, and Saturday classes for youth and adults. Three new programs will also be launched in 2023: Art in Businesses, a Quarterly ArtWalk, featuring a night event where the public can walk from venue to venue to view the art in each establishment and also formal mural tours.
