Strawhecker becomes airmanAir Force Airman Mark A. Strawhecker has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.The 2007 Del Oro High School graduate is the son of Tammy and Scott Strawhecker of Newcastle.The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.Summers is basic training graduateArmy National Guard Pfc. Joshua R. Summers has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.Summers earned distinction as an honor graduate.The private first class is a 2005 graduate of Del Oro High School and the son of Christine Summers of Newcastle.Allen finishes Air Force trainingTyler Allen Bender graduated from basic military training at Lackland AFB, Texas on March 26. He is now at Keesler Air Force Base in MIssissippi for further training.Bender is a 2007 Del Oro High School graduate and the son of Tim and Sherrie Bender of Loomis.
