Ruth Jackson

Surrounded by family, Ruth Jackson passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was 93. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Will Jackson, parents Clyde and Nellie Maase, and brothers Charles Maase and Robert Maase. She is survived by her sister Jean Wilson and her brother Donald Maase. She was a wonderful mother to her three children, Rich (Diane), Robin (Barry), and Kent (Darlene) and worked tirelessly to support all their activities from Church, PTA, El Cerrito Boys Baseball, Boy Scouts, and Camp Fire Girls. Ruth was also a loving Grandma to 7 grandchildren and their families who were all special to her: Tim (Michelle) LaVigne, Becky (Jon) Money, Brian (Ginger) Jackson, Bill (Jaime) Jackson, Shannon (Matt) Dickey, Daniel (Nancy) Jackson, and Kelsey (Andrew) Tsoules. She was blessed with 16 great grandchildren from these families: Megan, Maddie, Jackson, Jarrett, William, Bode, Keller, Coco, Jax, Ruthie, Davis, Cole, Maddox, Reese, Zoe, and Emmie. Singing and music were special joys for Ruth. A woman of strong faith, she and Will sang in various church choirs for nearly 50 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and baker, and taught both children and grandchildren many of these skills. She loved passing on family traditions and making life better for all of her family. A celebration of her life will be held on at 2pm on Friday June 23, 2023 at the First Congregational Church, 710 Auburn Ravine Road in Auburn. Reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church in her name.
