Silver Tongue Saturdays to feature Bay Area poet Kralowec

The Silver Tongue Saturdays Literary Series and Open Mic will feature Bay Area poet Kim Kralowec at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Auburn City Hall, 1225 Lincoln Way. The event is free. Assembly candidate to speak The Auburn Area Democratic Club will meet Thursday, July 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the General Gomez Art & Events Center in Downtown Auburn. The speaker will be Neva Parker, Democratic candidate for Assembly District 5. Gold Country Rotary president elect to speak Joanne Barragan, Gold Country Rotary president elect and real estate agent with eXp Realty, will be the featured speaker at the next meeting of Auburn Gold Country Rotary on Thursday, July 6, at Awful Annie's, located at 13460 Lincoln Way. Auburn Gold Country Rotary meets every Thursday at noon. Barragan will do a new year kickoff outlining exciting plans she has in store for Gold Country Rotary during her upcoming year ahead as president. All are welcome. Farmers Market Farmacy in Newcastle The Farmers Market Farmacy is held from 5-8 p.m. Mondays from June through October in the North Fork Chai parking lot at 661 Newcastle Road in Newcastle. Blanketeers meetings The Blanketeers meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pioneer Methodist Church off Auburn Ravine Road. Like to knit, crochet, quilt or make no-sew fleece blankets? Run out of people to make things for? Need community service hours for school or scouts? This is the organization for you. No pressure, no deadlines; we just want you to enjoy what you are doing and help a lot of children at the same time. Sewers must bring their own sewing machines. Foothill Fibers Guild Social Saturdays The Foothill Fibers Guild holds its Social Saturday on the second Saturday of the month from 1-3 p.m. in the community meeting room at the Madeline Helling Library in Nevada City. Community members are invited to drop in and maybe join a group of fiber enthusiasts. The group meets informally to talk, share current and recent projects, practice skills and hopefully enchant newcomers. The Foothill Fibers Guild weaves, knits, makes baskets and more, and shares their love of handmade treasures.
