Meet author Jeri Chase Ferris on July 26

Jeri Chase Ferris, a former teacher for 30 years in inner-city Los Angeles has written, so far, 12 award-winning biographies for children and adults about people who changed America for the better. Now a Lincoln resident, Chase Ferris will give a free public talk on July 26. The biographies include Thomas Jefferson, Abigail Adams, Noah Webster, Harriet Tubman, Marian Anderson, Benjamin Banneker, Biddy Mason and Matthew Henson. Do you know what Noah Webster did for America (besides the dictionary)? How did John Adams reply to Abigail's famous plea? Chase Ferris will answer those questions and share some little-known facts about well-known and less well-known Americans who helped define America at the free public Meet the Author Lecture Series at 2:30 p.m. July 26 at Kilaga Springs Lodge.
