Symphony & Art in the Park to kick off season in Auburn

Magic is in the air as the Auburn Symphony introduces another enchanting season with its free concert, Symphony & Art in the Park, this Saturday, Sept. 16, at School Park Preserve. Bring your chairs and blankets early and claim your comfy spot. Art exhibits and food booths open at 5 p.m. Adding to the vibrancy of the evening will be a drum circle at 5:30 at the Stan Padilla stone sculpture. There will also be tile making with the Auburn Arts Commission for a new tile mural at the park. By 6 o'clock, the Placer County Youth Orchestra will showcase its wonderful musical talents. The Auburn Symphony takes the stage at 7 p.m. with music by George Gershwin, John Williams, John Philip Sousa and Duke Ellington. This is the first of seven concerts, and a wonderful glimpse of how fortunate Auburn is to have such outstanding musicians that comprise the Auburn Symphony.
