Folsom teacher aide arrested for child sexual abuse

A Folsom man was arrested Friday on suspicion of multiple counts of child sexual abuse. Folsom Police Department sexual assault detectives obtained a warrant and took Gary Spencer Jimenez Jr., 23, into custody. According to Folsom Police, Jimenez was a special education teacher aide for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD). The police department reported it was contacted by FCUSD on Aug. 31 following an incident that was reported on the Folsom Middle School campus, and detectives discovered multiple counts of lewd acts with a child under 14, oral copulation with a person under 14 and kidnapping. According to Folsom Police, Jimenez was employed by a temp agency in the final months of the 2022-23 school year and was placed at Oak Chan Elementary School, and detectives believe he may have been temporarily employed at other area school districts. FPD confirmed the charges stemming from the warrant arrest are believed to have taken place at Folsom Middle School. Jimenez remains in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony charges with bail set at $1.4 million. According to online Sacramento County inmate information, Jimenez was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
