Myrtle Hudson 1947 - 2023

Myrtle Hudson, was born in Colorado in 1947. She spent her early childhood on her grandparent's ranch with her two sisters and her mother and father. As a young child, she traveled across almost all of the continental states with her parents and two sisters. The family eventually arrived in California where Myrtle went to high school. She married Robert Hudson and had two loving sons, Timothy and Steven. Despite re-entering the workforce, she was always very active in her sons' lives, even serving for several years as Scout Master for sons' cub scout troop. In the early 1980's, she began work at the Auburn Journal in the accounting department, where she made some of her longest-standing friends. She later took a position at AAA, where she demonstrated leadership skills and rose successfully through the ranks of male-dominated management. By the time that she became a grandmother, she was quite successful and super-commuting through northern central California to keep pace with the demands of her work. She embraced her new role with great enthusiasm and loved her sons and granddaughters with unique ferocity. Myrtle passed away at the age of 76 and is survived by her loving family, sister Sandy, son Steve and his wife Neda, daughter-in-law Reeni, and 4 granddaughters: Riley, Jordan, Quinn, and Mila. Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life for Myrtle from 12pm - 4pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at The Ridge Golf Club Event Center in Auburn, California.
