Rocklin incident report: Thefts, warrants, and suspicious vehicle incidents

The Rocklin Police Department publishes a weekly crime report. Here are the published incidents from Jan. 8-14. Jan. 14 Between 8 p.m. on Jan. 13 and 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 14, it was reported that an unknown suspect(s) broke into a locked vehicle in the parking lot of a residential complex on the 1200 block of Whitney Ranch Parkway and stole electronics and other personal property. It was also reported another vehicle that was possibly unlocked was rummaged through, and an air compressor was stolen. At 4:53 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject driving a vehicle on the 5400 block of Crossings Drive. Officers contacted the subject and determined he was intoxicated. The subject was placed under arrest and lodged at the South Placer Jail. At 4:49 p.m., Rocklin officers responded for a report of a vehicle theft on the 5400 block of Commons Drive. Officers checked the surrounding area but were unable to locate the stolen vehicle. Jan. 13 At 10:38 p.m., a Rocklin officer conducted a vehicle enforcement stop for an equipment violation on Sunset Boulevard at Pebble Creek Drive. During the stop, it was discovered one vehicle occupant had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant. Additionally, two other occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of controlled substances and narcotic paraphernalia. The suspect with the outstanding warrant was arrested and booked into the South Placer Jail; the other two occupants were released with Promise To Appear citations and a court date. Jan. 11 At 5:29 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Rocklin Road and S. Grove St. for a report of a non-injury vehicle accident. It was reported the involved vehicles were an SUV and a motorcycle. Both parties were uninjured. Officers assisted both parties with exchanging information. Jan. 10 At 2:11 a.m., Rocklin officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on Springview Drive at Sunset Boulevard. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was also found to be in possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. At 6:50 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a call of a suspicious person on the 5100 block of Commons Drive. Officers arrived and contacted the subject and learned he had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. Jan. 9 At 8:54 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a call of a theft on the 5400 block of Crossings Drive. Officers arrived and contacted the suspect. An investigation confirmed the suspect had stolen the property. She was issued a Promise to Appear citation and was released. At 10:14 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a call of a theft on the 5400 block of Crossings Drive. Officers arrived and contacted the suspect. An investigation confirmed the suspect had stolen the property. She was issued a Promise to Appear citation and was released. At 11:17 p.m., Rocklin officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on West Sunset Boulevard at Placer Corporate Drive. A records check revealed the passenger had a felony warrant for his arrest. An investigation revealed the driver was in possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. The driver was issued a Promise to Appear citation and released while the passenger was transported to Placer County Jail. Jan. 8 At 9:15 a.m., Rocklin officers contacted the occupant of a suspicious vehicle on the 5600 block of Pacific Street. A records check revealed the subject had two misdemeanor warrants for their arrest. He was issued a Promise to Appear citation and was released. At 9:47 a.m., Rocklin officers responded to a call of a theft in progress on the 5100 block of Commons Drive. Officers located the suspect vehicle and contacted the occupants. An investigation confirmed that suspects stole the property. A search of the vehicle revealed the suspects were transporting controlled substances for the purpose of sales. Both suspects were arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. Between Jan. 4 and Jan. 8, an unidentified subject stole a vehicle from the 6600 block of Lonetree Boulevard. At 11:41 p.m., Rocklin officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on China Garden Road at Aguilar Road. An investigation revealed the driver was in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. He was issued a Promise to Appear citation and released.
