Donald Jump 8/31/1944 - 3/11/2024

Donald Wilson Jump passed away on March 11, 2024, after suffering a major stroke. Born on August 31, 1944, in Adrian, Michigan and growing up in Alamosa, Colorado and Roseville, CA, he was under the tender and compassionate care of Partners in Care Hospice Group when he succumbed peacefully. Don graduated from Roseville High School in 1962 and earned a Masters degree in Geography from Long Beach State. He spent three months traveling around Europe with a backpack filled with clothes but not much money. After returning to the U.S., he found work in various trades... working as a roofer, owning a restaurant, working on boats in southern California. He finally settled on a career with the SP/UP railroad in Roseville, as a conductor. Don had that "Jump" work ethic that we all inherited from our Greatest Generation relatives and was very good at the job. Upon retirement, he took many trips to Hawaii and Morro Bay, which were places he loved. He is survived by sister, Patricia Holmes, (Leigh), Peggy Jump-Newell (David); brother Philip Jump (Cheri); son, Sean Jump, and two stepchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Don's wife, Pat Zander-Jump, a younger brother, Dennis Jump (Barbara) and daughter Shelley Jump, all preceded him in death. A celebration of life is being planned for later in the year.
