Odette Marie Louise Genevieve Littée 11/8/1937 - 3/25/2024

Odette Marie Louise Genevieve Littée was born November 8, 1937, in Bretagne, France, and died on March 25, 2024. Odette was an adventurously spirited woman. In her early 20s, she came to the United States as an au pair and spent two years living with a family teaching their children French while she learned English. Once back in France, with the lure of travel beckoning, Odette took a job working with Air Canada as an airline attendant and moved to Montreal, Canada, where she also trained and received her private pilot's license. It was in Montreal that she met her beloved husband, Alain Littée. They had three daughters. In the early 70s, Alain went to work for Bechtel, an international private engineering firm headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Odette was a devoted mother and homemaker, always putting her family first. She taught French classes from home, played tennis, and discovered a passion for painting. This passion led her to become an art teacher, sharing her love for the craft with others. Recognizing her dedication, Alain converted the carport into a studio where she could teach up to three weekly classes, further nurturing her passion and dedication to her family and home. She maintained close ties with her family in France. She and Alain traveled there and to his home in Martinique many times with children in tow. When they became empty nesters, they decided to take travel to the next level. Bechtel offered overseas assignments in various countries. Over the next ten years, they lived in Gabon, Hong Kong, South Korea and London, taking all the time they could to explore new places and visit neighboring countries. Odette's talent inspired paintings that hang on walls across the world today. Once retired with grandkids to cherish, they decided to stay close and call Folsom, California, home, where they have lived for the past 24 years. Odette's circle of friends, young and old, stretched far and wide. To many, she was known as Mamie. She will be remembered for her quick wit and desire to laugh and make others laugh. She will be dearly missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and everyone who knew her. Odette, the seventh of ten children, was predeceased by her parents, Marquee Charles and Marquise Antoinette de Broc, and 6 of her siblings. She is survived by her husband Alain; daughters Gaelle Merchant (Jerome), Cathy Wieser (Raymond, Jr.), and Sophie Littée; grandchildren Mark, Renee, and Max Merchant, Raymond III, Devin, Natalie, Christopher (Amanda) Wieser; and great- granddaughter Evie Wieser; Siblings Mimie Guillemot, Michel de Broc, Christian de Broc. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to local charities who help those in need.
