Adrienne G. McLain 8/8/1931 - 3/30/2024

Adrienne McLain passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024 in Roseville, CA. She resided in the Roseville area for 10 years. Adrienne was born to Thomas Kelly Brown and Olga (Moyon) Brown on August 8, 1931, in Millville, NJ. Adrienne enjoyed many summers in her youth at the "seashore" in Atlantic City (of Boardwalk fame), Sea Isle City, Ocean City, and Wildwood. Adrienne married Kenneth (Duke) L. Reynolds in 1948. In 1959, they moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with their three children where Duke worked with Saudi Arabian Airlines. While living in Jeddah, Adrienne and her children were able to spend several summers in St. Marc, France, where Adrienne met her mother's family. She continued to stay in touch with family in France – later returning in 1991 for a family wedding and to celebrate her 60th birthday. In 1963, Adrienne and Duke parted ways. Duke went to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and worked for Ethiopian Airlines. Adrienne and her children moved to Tucson, Arizona (on advice of a friend) where she became employed as a meat wrapper for Lucky's grocery store. In 1967, Adrienne and her children moved to Aptos, California, where she continued with Lucky's and was once again near the ocean. In 1979, Adrienne married Don McLain – a Marine veteran. They enjoyed many wonderful years at Pajaro Dunes in Watsonville, CA. Don passed away in 1989 (from cancer) and Adrienne retired from the grocery retail market. She went to work as a cook for the priests at Carmel Mission in Carmel, CA. While working at the Mission, she resided at the Mission where she was able to regain her spiritual and emotional well-being. She became involved in the Monterey community volunteering at the Maritime Museum (now the Museum of Monterey) and as a docent for Casa Serrano. She loved playing bridge with her friends and enjoyed painting and became active at the Methodist Church in Carmel. Because of vision problems, Adrienne moved to the Sacramento area around 1994 to be closer to her children. Adrienne always stayed the course raising three rebellious children. She was a fantastic cook and devoted mother. She was always very proud of her French heritage. Adrienne is preceded in death by her mother (Olga), father (Tom), sister (Madeleine), half-sister (Olga), late husband (Don) and son (Tom). She is survived by her daughter, Madeline (David) Brown of Rocklin, CA; and her son, Mark (Cathy) Reynolds of Kelso, WA. She is also survived by her three grand-daughters, Kelly (Ryan), Jessie (Drew), and Colleen (James); and six great grand-children (Cali, Cole, Hannah, Quinn, Koda and Rowan). She is also survived by her great grand-canine, Bear – who loved her deeply – as did all her family. Adrienne will be interred with her late husband, Don, in Watsonville. A graveside service will be held in August.
