Roseville baseball drops first two games to Bella Vista

Roseville High's baseball team has found the going tough in their series against Bella Vista. The Broncos are having a great year with a 10-1 record in league and a 13-2 record overall, and won the first two games of the series, 5-3 on Tuesday and 10-4 on Thursday. On Thursday, Roseville held a 2-1 lead after four innings, but Bella Vista scored five runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to win going away. Bella Vista jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the third before the Tigers scored two in the bottom of the inning when Logan Fox walked before Kyle Pettersen homered to left field. Bella Vista scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 6-2 lead, but Roseville stayed in it with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. Luke Donahue drew a one-out walk and scored on Pettersen's triple, and Pettersen then scored when the ball from the outfielder got by the third baseman and rolled out of play into the Roseville dugout, making the score 6-4. Bella Vista then scored four more runs in the top of the sixth inning, sending nine men to the plate, to increase their lead to 10-4. Roseville loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, but couldn't push any runs across the plate. The series ends today at Bella Vista with the game beginning at 4 p.m.
