Teen allegedly stabs Wal-Mart employee

A 13-year-old Folsom resident was arrested Thursday night, charged with attempted murder of a Wal-Mart employee.The Wal-Mart store manager, whose name was not released by officials, was stabbed by a shoplifting suspect – later determined to be the teenager.According to Officer Jason Browning of the Folsom Police Department the manager of the store located on Riley Street was stabbed around 4 p.m. as he attempted to retrieve the stolen merchandise. The teen then fled on foot across Glenn Drive onto a bike trail. The manager walked to Folsom Fire Station 35 across the street from where the incident occurred. The firefighters who treated and then transported the victim, reported the incident to Folsom police. According to witnesses the victim made contact with the suspect outside the store where a struggle ensued, Browning said in a released statement.The victim was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and torso during the altercation.At 9:50 p.m. the parents of the teen notified police that their son had confessed to the stabbing. The knife he allegedly used and a stolen bb gun were turned over to officers.The teen, whose name is not being released due to his age, has been charged with robbery and attempted murder. He has been booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile detention centerThe victim was last reported in stable condition.
