Six-foot-tall ribbons grace 14 high-profile public sites

Breast cancer surgeon Dr. Ernie Bodai was excited to see the 6-foot-tall ribbon installed outside Kaiser Permanente at the corner of Douglas Boulevard and Rocky Ridge Drive in Roseville.The installation meant his vision — along with that of local developer Stephen Pease — had come to fruition.Businesses and individuals sponsored local artists to create designs on the fiberglass ribbons, which were installed at 14 high-profile public sites in Roseville, Granite Bay and Lincoln Monday, including Fat's Asia Bistro and Dim Sum Bar, First American Title and two at Westfield Galleria. Two additional ribbons will be placed sometime soon.Bodai and Pease launched the South Placer Art in Public Places campaign in April to raise awareness about breast cancer. Each ribbon cost $2,500 to sponsor and proceeds benefit Cure Breast Cancer, a nonprofit organization founded by Bodai.
